The Beard is Back.

Clearly, the beard is back. And looking good as ever.

I gave in and bought Easter lilies - they are just so darn pretty, and smell divine! I bought them in memory of Dad - because he loved lilies and always bought some for my mom every year. I also think of them as a symbol of this holiday - to me they sort of look like trumpets, which make me think of Angels trumpeting the glorious day of our Savior's resurrection.

If Thomas and I were candy, we would be peeps.

The cute picnic basket that I got from my sister Susie!

It was a lovely day indeed.

No picnic seems complete without Jones.

Egg salad sandwiches seemed very appropriate for the occasion.

Olive you.

Remember how mom says not to play with your food? Well, we still do.

Fruit Salad - forkless style :/

Peeps are just so cute. That's why I bite off the head first.

Happy Easter!

Like Father Like Daughter

This month, two years ago, marks the 2 year anniversary of my dad's passing. It's always hard going home and not seeing my dad around. It's still hard going into my parent's room and seeing his untouched desk, always orderly and neat as he liked to keep things, his jacket still hanging on the chair. My dad was an amazing man. He really cared and loved us, worked so incredibly hard for us, and spent quality time with us. I have some great memories, all the family does. I feel so blessed to have the knowledge I do - that I will be reunited with my dad again. I know this to be true - that families are eternal. I know even though I can't speak with or see him, he's looking down on me and is close by often.

Hellos and Goodbyes

Recently, we had a Jeru reunion (2010 study abroad). It was great seeing so many amazing people! It was also the first time I'd seen one of my professors (Brother Muhlestein who taught Old Testament) and his family since getting back as well. It was tons of fun!

Thomas and I also stopped by Linda's farewell party - sad to see her move so far away (D.C.), but I
know she'll continue to do amazing things no matter where she is!

Lulu will miss you Cocolina!
